BizZne$$ BuzZ . . . Spreading It's Wings with a New Talent

A story I have told many times and in many settings really reflects what my show is about today. There was a certain bricklayer who was refacing the brick on an older four story building and when he had completed the work, he found himself on the roof with about 1000 lbs of bricks left over. Rather than sacrifice these assets he rigged an ingenious pulley mechanism with the use of a large barrel which he loaded the bricks into this barrel to lower them to ground. He went downstairs and untied the end of the rope that was anchored to the ground, unfortunately he forgot that he weighed only 165 lbs and the barrel with bricks now weighed 1000 lbs. Needless to say he was jerked upwards and encountered the barrel coming down and his injuries were severe. He then found himself hanging 4 stories in the air because he lost his presence of mind and never let go of the rope. The barrel crashed into the ground and the bottom fell out and with that the 1000 lbs of bricks. Devoid of this weight, the barrel now weighed 50lbs. A then rapid descent resulted in the meeting of the barrel on the way down and again multiple injuries occurring. The bricklayer found himself flat on his back, lacerated, bones broken and numerous internal injuries. Regaining his presence of mind, he finally let go of the rope and the barrel came crashing down on him. What is the moral of the story? The weight was too much for the limited capability of the bricklayer and because he tried to do the job alone, the results were catastrophic! Why this story?
