Scam . . . Scammed . . . Scammer!

My guest today is Lon Gibby, CEO of Gibby Media. www.gibbymedia.com He has a personal story to relay to you to help you avoid what he encountered and experienced as a small businessman. American Greed was a show on cable that I never missed. It seems that every time another episode came on I was transfixed to the screen to find out what else was out there that I was not aware of and more importantly exposed to as a small business. There are predators in this world and there is an old saying that White Collar Crime seems to be the most prolific and least prosecuted because the prey are usually those that are caught off guard and by the time the realization comes about that they have indeed been taken to the cleaners, the thief is long gone. You would think that because of this proliferation of this type of crime that law enforcement would be more cognizant and on top of the these instances but for the most part in my particular case where I was taken for thousands of dollars on a presumably legitimate business transaction the end result was the filing of a police report with local officials and the hope that the perpetrator who was out of state would be followed up by the agency that was closest to the domicile of the thief. This is really an exercise in nothingness and once that reality set in I proceeded to contact the corporation that had been represented with out their knowledge and their intellectual property, verbiage, documents and logo's had been visibly been utilized and upon contacting them and providing them will every piece of data including all hard copy documents, emails, phone texts, voicemails, zoom records etc. The response that I received from their legal enforcement division was that they would no longer pursue any action against this individual and recommended that I seek out law enforcement agencies to resolve my dilemma. Talk about round robin. I was right back where I started, which the local police who are certainly over burdened and unable to accomplish my ends with their now limited personnel, budgets and now the attacks to put them out of business all together. If you are like me not a day goes by that I am not receiving a call that informs me that my social security, income taxes, mortgage payments, insurance coverages, credit card interest rates, medical coverages and the subject matters of these SCAMS go on and on and get more and more creative with every phone call or mailing that I receive.
