Chasing Portraits Lost in the Holocaust

Chasing Portraits Lost in the Holocaust
Today’s guest, Elizabeth Rynecki, takes us along her journey, back through time and into fascinating nooks and crannies, searching for the lost art of her Polish great grandfather, Moshe Rynecki. He lived from 1881-1943 and, during the Holocaust, was in the Warsaw ghetto. He painted poignant portraits of everyday people, giving us a glimpse into these tumultuous times. Elizabeth is the author of Chasing Portraits: A Great-Granddaughter’s Quest for Her Lost Art Legacy, and the writer-producer-director of a documentary film, Chasing Portraits, which chronicles her decades-long quest. Her work has been described as one man’s art and one wonan’s unexpected path to healing.
