The Gorilla in the Room: Who's To Blame

The Gorilla in the Room: Who's To Blame
A tragedy occurred at the Cincinnati Zoo, when Harambe, an endangered species of gorilla, lost his life because a little boy's mother was negligent. A 3-year-old boy told his mom he wanted to go play with the gorillas. She told him, No, but then turned and attended to her other children. Meanwhile, her son continued his plan to play with Harambe and fell into the moat. Though video of Harambe shows him being gentle and protective with the boy, the zoo staff shot the gorilla... not wanting to take any chances with the boy's life. Today's guest, Dr. Lorin Lindner, is an animal activist, psychologist and the founder of animal sanctuaries that benefit veterans by engaging them in the care of these 'wounded warriors'-parrots and wolves. Dr. Carole predicts the boy's family will greedily sue the zoo, though mom is really to blame. She urges listeners to sign the petition on change.org, to be sent to the zoo, asking to have the parents investigated and to hold the parents responsible.
