Today's Kids Need Attorneys to Protect Their Rights in Schools!

Schools are no longer like the Little Red Schoolhouse we read about in books. They're battlegrounds for rights these days: from political to sexual to services for special needs kids. Today's guest takes you behind the Schoolhouse doors and reveals what's really going on. She specializes in helping families with disabled or special needs kids to get the services they're entitled to, and not be trampled on. Today, she'll tell you about three of her current cases - one more shocking than the other - where kids were misunderstood and ignored, while draconian discipline was substituted for proper teaching opportunities. Piper Paul is an award-winning attorney. She is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York state courts, as well as federal courts, and has extensive legal experience in representing students with and without disabilities at both the secondary and post-secondary levels, as well as adults with disabilities. In today's news we hear about horrors like teachers and school boards forcing their agendas on kids, but imagine how hard these confusing battlegrounds must be for kids who have their own challenges already.
