An App for Grief

An App for Grief
How can we use technology to reduce the isolation and alienation that often comes along with grief? When Kimberly Libertini and Robynne Boyd were facing profound loss, a friend connected them to exchange text messages and support each other through their hardest moments. They were both amazed at how helpful it was, even though they didn't know each other before that. This is the experience that fueled their passion to create the Goodgriefapp, where people can connect anonymously to offer each other support and caring. Users can restrict their search to people with the same world outlook, the same loss, or the same circumstances. Then they can engage in conversations of sharing and caring that reduce that sense of being alone without having to take big chances. Join us to learn what they have noticed as they have created this platform and what led to this particular way of coping with their own losses.
