Rob Marmerstein - Hospital: Emotional Regulation in Hurricane Harvey

Rob will share how he managed the staff’s and patients emotions during 2017 Hurricane Harvey. Almost 500 people were stranded there at the hospital for many days.Robert A. Marmerstein joined HCA Houston Healthcare Kingwood as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) in January of 2017. Prior to this appointment, Marmerstein served as COO of HCA Houston Healthcare Mainland. He has held various other progressive leadership roles since joining HCA Healthcare in 2008. Before transitioning into healthcare, Marmerstein began his career in the hospitality industry, working for Universal Studios and the Hard Rock Hotel at the Universal Orlando Resort in Orlando, Florida. Marmerstein is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and serves on the board of the Greater East Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce. He earned his bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Central Florida and his master's degree in Healthcare Administration from Virginia Commonwealth U
