COURTESY AND LOVE
Courtesy is an ingredient of love in action. It is being polite, respectful mannerly and gracious; and affirmations of dignity, honor and value in others. Courtesy is is reflected in heartfelt expressions including ..."Thank you, Please, Excuse me, Pardon me, May I, I'm sorry, Forgive me".
Courtesy is an inner attitude and the foundation of genuine human interaction. Whether at home, in the community and at the workplace, etiquette, accountability and consideration speaks volumes. It is a reflection of our inner state of good manners, human decency, civil behavior and professionalism. Being courteous is expressed in small things we say and do in our daily lives. The outcomes and benefits include being calm, reducing stress, alleviating unncessary conflicts and increasing harmony. We become more aware and pay attention to how we treat ourselves and others.
Our behavor is displayed in habits, actions and verbal and non-verbal responses. Whether offering a helping hand, facial expression of endearment, concern for others, it makes others feel seen, heard and worthy of love. It inspires good humor and as we uplift others we uplift ourselves.
