From earlier years of growing up in the Caribbean, I clung to a deep belief that I would someday realize my dream of going to America to pursue my goal of getting a higher education, but it would take some preparation to attain this goal. I would need to be prepared emotionally, physically, psychologically and spiritual to attain such an accomplishment. I knew my parents had given me the tools to trust in a Higher Power for the spiritual support I would need to take on such an endeavor, but I knew I needed to focus on other areas of my life to create the whole wellness that I needed. Because I had incurred a lot of grief, fears and traumas already, I had become an emotional eater. I ate when I wasn't hungry and I ate many of the wrong things so I was often emotionally and psychologically stressed. I was totally out of balance. I needed to practice self-love and self-care so I could love myself unconditionally. I needed to LOVE MY BODY BETTER and be more MINDFUL of how I was LIVING.
