On 9/11/2026, the United States will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the horrendous series of al-Qaeda terrorist attacks of 9/11. Nineteen hijackers took over flights, crashing four airlines into the World Trade Center in New York, the Pentagon in Arlington, Virginia, and Shanksville in Pennsylvania. A total of 2,977 people died that day, with thousands of emergency personnel who have died from 9/11 related illnesses since.
