Lt. Matthew Bos

Matthew Bos has been a police officer with the Ocala Police Department since 1997.  He has served as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Street Crimes Officer, Drug Agent, Bicycle Patrol Officer, Property Crimes Detective, & Major Crimes Detective.  In 2012, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and was assigned to Patrol, Field Training Coordinator, Resource Development/Training, Unified Drug Enforcement Strike Team/High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area Sergeant.  In 2021, he was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant and assigned as a Patrol Watch Commander.  He currently is assigned to oversee the Technical Services Section (Evidence & Forensics).  Lt. Bos holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from Saint Leo University, a Master’s Degree in Homeland Security from American Military University, and a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University.  Matthew is a graduate of the Florida Leadership Academy, Class 31 and the Senior Leadership Program, Class 26.  Matthew is also the current President of the Southeastern Field Training Officer Association.
