National Recovery Month and Refugee to Harvard

National Recovery Month and Refugee to Harvard
Kathryn interviews Caron Treatment Centers President and CEO Doug Tieman, author of “Flying Over the Pigpen: Leadership Lessons from Growing Up on a Farm”. Before age 40 Tieman struggled with alcoholism after achieving success as a CEO in the addiction treatment and behavioral healthcare field. In his new memoir Tieman shares the story of how he chose not to follow the expected path of becoming a pig farmer like his father and rose to the top in his chosen career while embracing recovery from his own alcoholism. Kathryn also interview Harvard Medical School graduate and Fulbright Scholar Vinh Chung MD, author of “Where the Wind Leads: A Refugee Family’s Miraculous Story of Loss, Rescue, and Redemption”. Born in South Vietnam after it fell to the communists in 1975, Dr. Chung and his wealthy family lost everything. This memoir follows Chung and his family on their desperate journey to a miraculous rescue and a new home in the unlikely town of Fort Smith, Arkansas.
