Raised on Televangelism and Thinking Design

Raised on Televangelism and Thinking Design
Kathryn interviews teacher Ken Murray, author of “Eulogy: A Novel”. What effect does growing up with fundamentalists have on children? In his powerful debut novel, Murray explores an unusual, Rapture-obsessed fundamentalist Christian family that places all of its hopes on catastrophic destruction. Although Eulogy is not a memoir, Murray has first-hand experience with growing up in this kind of environment. Kathryn also interviews award-winning designer Ayse Birsel, author of “Design the Life You Love: A Step-by-Step Guide to Building a Meaningful Future”. Life, just like a design problem, is full of constraints—time, money, age, location and circumstances. Birsel uses a simple but proven creative thinking and design process to give ordinary people new tools to think about life differently. Birsel is the co-founder of Birsel + Seck, a NYC human centered design and innovation studio who has worked with Hasbro, GE, Design within Reach, HP, Knoll and other fortune 500 companies.
