“Reconstructing Amelia” and “The Song in You”

Kathryn interviews one of Entertainment Weekly’s ’13 to Watch in 2013’ author Kimberly McCreight on her book “Reconstructing Amelia”. Bullying makes headlines whenever another tortured teen takes his or her life. This appalling pandemic is at the heart of McCreight's debut novel: a story of a career-driven single mother searching for answers to her well-behaved daughter's alleged suicide. McCreight's work has been published in Antietam Review, Oxford Magazine and Babble. Kathryn also interviews Hall of Fame motivational speaker LaDonna Gatlin, author of “The Song in You: Finding Your Voice, Redefining Your Life”. After taking 31 Ambien and surviving, musician, author and award-winning speaker LaDonna Gatlin discovered a life of purpose and meaning. A sister of music legends The Gatlin Brothers, Gatlin walked away from the highest highs of the music world to share a message of hope and healing. Gatlin has recorded four solo CDs and contributes to the Chicken Soup for the Soul series.
