Megan Carle: Combatting Workplace Bullying

Megan Carle: Combatting Workplace Bullying

For thirty years, Megan rose steadily through the executive ranks of Nike, one of the world’s most successful companies and best-known brands, playing key roles in billion-dollar wins. Her time at Nike concluded when she reached the pinnacle of her career as vice president/general manager of North American basketball. Megan will discuss five styles of workplace bullying, explain why women are most often targets of bullying, and explain why reclaiming your life and health is most important. In her forthcoming book WALK AWAY TO WIN: A Playbook to Combat Workplace Bullying, Carle aims to shine some light on this insidious and often invisible form of workplace violence. Her novel is a must-read for anyone who wants to recognize what workplace bullying is, how to fight against it, and—ultimately—how to regain their health and happiness by refusing to let the bullies to continue their bullying ways. Megan will discuss five styles of workplace bullying, explain why women are most often targets of bullying, and explain why reclaiming your life and health is most important.

After leaving Nike,  Carle founded Carle Consulting LLC, providing strategic marketing advice to consumer products companies. She earned an executive coaching certification and enjoys working with emerging leaders* from a variety of sectors. From start-up to Fortune 500, director to c-suite, her objective is simple—leverage individual strengths to achieve clearly defined objectives. Carle learned from the best and embrace more than a few sports metaphors. Carle lives in Portland, Oregon with my husband, Chris, and their children Spencer, Jackie, and Blue Bear. What no one suspected was that Carle had been experiencing bullying and was stonewalled by higher-ups when she asked for help. Her health and work performance were severely impacted, and she had to walk away from the company she loved. That's when she decided to spread awareness and make other people feel seen in their experiences with workplace bullying.
