In the first half Leah DeCesare, an award-winning author, will talk about her book, Forks, Knives, and Spoons which is a light-hearted, thought-provoking coming of age story that takes readers on a nostalgic journey back to the 1980s and 1990s, which categorizes men's qualities according to Utensil Classification System when looking for a romantic partner. This book is known to be memorable, witty, romantic and has to power to influence a reader's real-life choices. In the second half, Sylvia Brown, an advocate of thoughtful and effective giving, drawing on 300 years of philanthropy by her family. She is the author of ‘Grappling With Legacy - Rhode Island’s Brown Family and The American Philanthropic Impulse’. With her insight into the evolution of charitable giving in America, she promotes affordable donor education. She discusses her program ‘Uplifting Journey’s Program’ and her work as encore public voices fellow writing on effective giving practices for American’s retirees.
