DAY 2: End Animal Testing March

Day Two of the historic March to Abolish Animal Testing in New York State is underway. It all kicked off in Albany on September 12th, 2026 with fiery speeches demanding an end to animal experimentation in an era of AI, quantum science, and organs-on-a-chip. After resting overnight in Schenectady, the resilient group of activists is tackling another grueling 15-mile trek toward the Amsterdam, New York area, where they've just arrived! While 1,000 marchers have signed up overall, supporters continue to cycle in and out, with many joining individual legs of the journey. The ultimate destination is Marshall BioResources (MBR) in North Rose, New York—the nation's largest breeder of beagles for laboratory experimentation. Marchers are demanding the permanent closure of the facility and the immediate release of the estimated 16,000 to 20,000 beagles housed inside, mirroring the shutdowns of the notorious Envigo and Ridglan facilities. Pressure continues to mount on MBR following a detailed 40-plus-page animal cruelty complaint submitted to the local district attorney by famed former prosecutor Bonnie Klapper. MBR denies the allegations, says it operates in compliance with USDA regulations, and has an open invitation to respond further.
